Maggie: We took these photos last Sunday evening. We had rushed down to the dog beach for a quick walk. The girls were keen to make collections of treasures on the natural shelves the sandstone provided. Rob took this photo of Maggie.
Elisabeth: She was probably watching the antics of our dogs, who were wrestling, swimming and being crazy dogs. I took this portrait.

Maggie: The girls and then me have been unwell this week with a terrible virus that caused a very high temperature, with associated aches and shivering. It has knocked us flat. So my post for last week's portraits is very late, and I had limited opportunities to take photos when we all felt like it! Still their were moments of joy like Maggie picking a flower and pretending to give it to her sister!
Elisabeth: She was only just feeling better, we had some cool weather this week, so I dug out the leopard coats to keep them warm.

This weeks portraits were taken yesterday (ON TIME) but still need to be tweaked.

Maggie: Rob just left on a week long field trip. Last night he let me know he would be taking his camera with him, I hadn't taken any photos for the week, so he quickly snapped some photos of the girls while they played with his golf clubs. Poor Maggie, she was hurtling along the terrace in her too-big-gumboots, we called out to slow down before tackling the ramp into the garden, but it was too late. Luckily she didn't tumble all the way down the gravel covered ramp. A few scrapes and scratches and a cuddle later and she was undaunted running again. They are tougher than I realise.
Elisabeth: She made up a sort of dance routine with the golf club, checking herself in the reflection of our glass doors. Not looking forward to our discussion tonight about where Papa is....

Maggie: This girl. When she doesn't want to go to sleep she can resist for so long. She can cry this angry cry that tears your heart in two. She can refuse pesto, salad, mushrooms, with a quick but polite "no thank you". She can tell me "not yet" when I say it's time to go home. But she can also smile until her eyes crinkle up. She can snuggle up to me and say "Mama I love you". We went to an afternoon tea to raise funds for the families of premature babies. She and Elisabeth latched onto two older girls (probably about 9 or 10) and we were amazed to see Maggie take charge! "ok guys follow me, we're going to do...."
Elisabeth: She is going through a stage of not wanting to go to family day care. As we get ready to leave, "can I stay home?", at varying intervals on the trip in (about 15 minutes) she will repeat the question. She usually perks up and runs into the carer's home, eager to check out the new activity for the day. But as we say goodbye, she turns to us and with a fake cry, "MamaPapa (yes in one word), can I go home". We tell her gently no, she needs to stay, we know she will have a good day. She always does! Last night when we started driving down our driveway "can't I go back to care, I don't want to go home!"

Maggie: I took these portraits yesterday- we had a weekend away and spent time at the beach but I still feel nervous about taking the camera to the beach, terrified of sand. We hired a truck on Monday to move some furniture from one end of the state to the other, the girls and I followed in our car. Maggie got very excited when we drove past the ABC studio and declared "Papa is picking up Emma". Wiggle love is new and exciting for the girls still!
Elisabeth: The direction of the light through the window made such a difference between these two portraits, but Miss Elisabeth declined to move for me as she was doing her puzzle. Elisabeth took a bit of tumble in the sea, and needed Ron to pick her up again. She swallowed a mouthful of seawater and was very unimpressed. I talked to her later and said next time she should try to stand up at least. She answered, "I don't want a next time".
